Norlux purchases new 2 meter integration sphere!

Jose Gonzalez:
Production Planning
Carol Stream, IL – This week, Norlux received our latest and certainly largest integrating sphere, which measures in at 2 meters in diameter. While integrating spheres are nothing new to Norlux (we currently use two smaller models), the size of the new sphere will offer new opportunities to test larger and more elaborate fixtures.

Integrating spheres are used for a variety of optical, photometric or radiometric measurements. Most importantly, they capture total flux (lumens) measurements of LEDs, lamps and complete lighting fixtures.  An integrating sphere can also be used to measure the diffuse reflectance of different surfaces, providing an average over all angles of illumination and observation. This information helps lighting designers and our own engineers understand how much light an LED light engine emits at any given state of completion.

We at Norlux employ the latest in test and measurement technologies to provide accurate light output readings on lighting designs. For more information about our capabilities, including our testing and quality protocol, please contact us today.
