Optical Society of Chicago Visits Norlux

Carol Stream, IL – 23 members of the Optical Society of Chicago (affiliated with the Optical Society of America since 1949) visited Norlux on November 1st, for a tour of the facilities and a night of learning about how optics relate to the LED lighting industry.  Norlux employees discussed their company's various specialties, including the surface-mount technology assembly line, chip-on-board automated assemblies, thermal analysis and driver production lines.  But, of particular interest to the OSC members were the various optical testing and inspection capabilities.

The evening began with a high-level company overview while refreshments were served, to welcome the attendees and get them up-to-speed with Norlux.  Demonstrations soon began, including an optical project measuring the light field inside an illuminated air-field sign and optical testing display by a pair of Norlux engineers. They also demonstrated a multi-white camera, Quasar calibration, Labview CIE, integrated sphere and Flir camera. 

The Norlux team was proud to host the event and fielded many insightful questions throughout the night. It was an excellent opportunity to network, show our capabilities and learn about the Optical Society of Chicago, as they learn about Norlux.
